Traditional Hatha Yoga:
Asana, Pranayama & Philosophy
Not fitness yoga — the real thing. Learn traditional Hatha Yoga as preserved in the Hatha Yoga Pradipika, Gheranda Samhita and Shiva Samhita. Master 32 classical asanas, 6 shatkarmas (cleansing), pranayama, mudras, bandhas and the philosophical map to Samadhi — all in 10 structured weeks under Yogacharya Suresh Nair.
📖 Course Overview
Hatha Yoga is the gateway to all other paths of yoga. Its name encodes its purpose: Ha (sun · prana · right nostril) + Tha (moon · apana · left nostril) — the union of opposing forces. Unlike modern "yoga classes" that focus only on flexibility, the Hatha tradition is a complete science of body purification, energy regulation and consciousness elevation.
कुर्यात्तदासनं स्थैर्यमारोग्यं चाङ्गलाघवम्॥
This course follows the classical structure of the three foundational texts: the Hatha Yoga Pradipika (15th c., Swami Swatmarama), the Gheranda Samhita (17th c., Sage Gheranda) and the Shiva Samhita — covering asana, shatkarma, pranayama, mudra, bandha and samadhi in sequence. Yogacharya Suresh Nair teaches from the Kerala Shivaganga tradition with 15 years of lineage practice.
By Week 10, students have a complete daily sadhana: morning shatkarma cleansing, asana practice, pranayama, mudra and a 20-minute meditation — a self-sustaining practice that improves posture, digestion, lung capacity, mental clarity and emotional stability simultaneously.

"As a physiotherapist, I have recommended yoga to patients for years without fully understanding it myself. This course transformed my understanding. The explanation of asanas from a nadi and prana perspective — not just musculoskeletal — gave me a completely new framework. The Shatkarma module especially was something no fitness yoga class would ever teach. I now use Jala Neti and Trataka in my own daily practice."
"I have a severe L4-L5 disc herniation and was told by a doctor to avoid yoga. Yogacharya Suresh's therapeutic sequences in Week 9 were designed precisely for people like me — gentle, effective, and anatomically sound. Within 3 weeks my pain had reduced by 60%. The explanation of why certain asanas help and others harm is invaluable."
"I have been teaching yoga for 6 years but never knew the texts behind what I was teaching. The Hatha Yoga Pradipika module gave me an entirely new depth. Now when students ask me 'why', I have a proper lineage answer, not just 'it feels good.' My classes have transformed since taking this course."
"Moved to Canada 8 years ago. All the yoga here is power yoga or hot yoga — nothing remotely traditional. This course reconnected me with something I didn't know I was missing. Sirsasana (headstand) was my personal milestone — never thought I'd achieve it, but Yogacharya's step-by-step preparation over 3 weeks made it completely accessible. 4 stars only because I want more advanced content in a future course!"
