Jyotisha — Vedic Astrology:
Grahas, Rashis & Kundali
Jyotish is not sun-sign fortune-telling. It is the "eye of the Vedas" — a precise mathematical system for understanding how planetary energies (graha) shape individual destiny and the cycles of time. In 16 weeks, learn to read a birth chart (Kundali), understand all 9 grahas, 12 rashis, 27 nakshatras, dashas and yogas, and make basic predictions for yourself and family.
📖 Course Overview
Jyotisha (ज्योतिष) is one of the six Vedangas — the limbs of the Vedas. Literally "the science of light," it is called Vedachakshuh — the eye of the Vedas — because it allows us to see clearly across time. Unlike Western astrology, Jyotisha uses the sidereal zodiac (actual star positions), the Vimshottari Dasha system of planetary periods, and the nakshatra system of 27 lunar mansions — making it both astronomically precise and psychologically rich.
ज्योतिषं वेदचक्षुस्तु ग्रहाणां ज्ञानसाधनम्॥
This course follows the Brihat Parashara Hora Shastra tradition — the foundation text of all Parashari Jyotish. You will learn the complete kundali (birth chart) — the 12 houses (bhavas), 12 rashis, 9 grahas with their dignities and aspects, 27 nakshatras and the Vimshottari Dasha system. Pandit Krishnadas teaches with real chart examples and case studies using actual charts (anonymized).
By Week 16, you will be able to read your own Kundali, identify the karaka planets for key life areas (career, marriage, health), and make basic predictions using the dasha sequence. Intermediate level — requires no prior astrology knowledge but assumes familiarity with Vedic concepts and Sanskrit terms.
12 Rashis (Signs) You Will Study
🌟 The 9 Grahas (Planets)
Each graha is studied in full — rashi lordship, exaltation/debilitation, friendship/enmity, karak status, aspects (drishti), and how its placement in each house affects the native. Includes Rahu-Ketu nodes with eclipse interpretation.

👨🏫 Your Teacher
Pandit Krishnadas Sharma
Pandit Krishnadas Sharma began his study of Jyotisha at age 14 under the direct gurukul tradition of Varanasi, spending 8 years in residential study of Brihat Parashara Hora Shastra, Brihajjataka, and Uttara Kalamrita. He has conducted over 3,200 paid consultations across India, Nepal and the Indian diaspora in the UK and USA. His teaching method is unusual for Jyotish: he insists students learn the Sanskrit shloka basis for every rule they apply — no rule without its textual source. He runs monthly free chart-reading camps in Varanasi for low-income families.

⭐ Student Reviews (4.6 · 127 reviews)
"I have been fascinated by Jyotish for 20 years but every book or YouTube channel assumed you already knew everything. Pandit Krishnadas explains each concept from its Parashara Hora Shastra source — with the Sanskrit verse! I finally understand why my Shani Mahadasha was so difficult (Shani in 8th house, lord of 3rd and 4th in lagna chart) — the answer was right there in the text. Exceptional course for serious learners."
"The Vimshottari Dasha module alone is worth ten times the course fee. Pandit-ji's case studies using real (anonymized) charts were extraordinary — he predicted health events in the 8th lord period with terrifying precision. I am now able to calculate my own dasha sequence and have already helped 5 family members understand major life transitions they are going through."
"My grandfather was a famous jyotishi in Kerala and I always wanted to learn but thought it was too complex for a non-scholar. This course dismantled that belief completely. The 27 Nakshatra module was a revelation — understanding the character of each nakshatra makes reading charts feel natural rather than rule-memorization. The remedies module also answered my biggest question: are they superstition? Pandit-ji explains the energetic rationale beautifully."
"I'm a medical doctor with strong skepticism about astrology. A colleague suggested this course. What I found was not vague fate-prediction but a sophisticated symbolic system for understanding human psychology and life cycles. The nakshatra system and dasha periods function like a personality and developmental framework — whether or not one believes in literal planetary influence. 4 stars because I'd love an advanced module on medical astrology (Ashtamangala chart etc)."
